IMPLANTS
Implants have advanced over nearly three decades with better materials, improved procedures and professionals who continue to expand their knowledge and experience. This state-of-the-art technology takes only about an hour to place a single implant. The level of discomfort is generally described as relatively mild.
Once the implant is integrated into the jaw with a small titanium screw, over the course of several months it naturally bonds with bone. It can be used to replace a gap due to a missing tooth, via a crown or bridge restoration. It can also be used to support loose dentures.
Advantages of a dental implant
- Reestablishes function and esthetics of missing teeth
- Prevents bone loss
- Existing teeth are preserved
- Biocompatible with the body
Implants are the closest to replacing natural teeth that the science has developed. As such, they must be kept clean and plaque-free with proper brushing, flossing and routinely scheduled cleanings with our dental team. They have become the preferred treatment in most cases because they facilitate good underlying bone and gum health.
